We are a charity that offers free and impartial energy advice to help residents stay warm, save money and live greener. We are currently offering a hybrid model of service in the areas we cover. You can access our services by requesting a home visit, online or via telephone.
What can we do for you?
For over 20 years we’ve been helping residents stay well and warm at home, and save money on their household bills. These are some of the ways we can support you when you sign up for a home visit or phone appointment:
- Advice on reducing energy use at home, included energy saving tip and how to use heating and hot water controls to save money
- Advice and support on suppliers or tariffs including explaining statements, energy caps, standing charges and unit rates
- Supporting with accessing the water discounts or Priority Services Register
- Support with applications for energy or water debt relief
- Advice and support to help apply for the installation of larger efficiency measures such as insulation and boiler upgrades
- Referring you to other support organisations within your community if needed - such as food parcels, fuel vouchers, white goods
- Delivering small efficiency measures, such as LED lightbulbs, draught proofing, powerdown units, CO alarms, warm kits, power cut kits and more!
If you use British Sign Language (BSL), we can provide free energy-saving advice via video call with a BSL interpreter.
Language interpreters for non-English speakers are also available.
Our Impact
Every day, Green Doctors help people stay warm, reduce their bills and make their homes healthier to live in.
Since April 2025, Green Doctors have supported more than 2,000 households across London through 13 projects and attended 237 community events, helping residents save money, improve their wellbeing and reduce their environmental impact.

Where we deliver our service:
Hammersmith and Fulham Healthy Homes Helping Hands
Hammersmith and Fulham Council have partnered with Groundwork on a bespoke H&F scheme called H&F Healthy Homes (H&F HH). This scheme provides free support to help people save money on energy bills and keep their home warm or cool. For more details please look here H&F Healthy Homes programme.
Stay Warm in Barnet
Barnet's Green Doctor service offers free, tailored energy advice and practical support to eligible Barnet residents, helping them reduce energy bills, improve home energy efficiency, and stay warm. Support can include home visits, free energy-saving products, and help accessing grants and financial assistance.
Haringey
We’ve partnered with the London Borough of Haringey to offer a simple one‑stop referral service for residents who need help managing their energy bills or improving the energy efficiency of their home. Through this service, residents can access a wide range of support to reduce energy costs and make homes warmer and more efficient.

Who should attend?
These webinars are designed for anyone who works with young families, people who are on a low income, the elderly, and people with physical or mental illness or disability. They will be of particular interest to Housing Officers, Charity workers and social prescribing link workers.
The Green Doctor service is available across London. Whether you’re a landlord, tenant, leaseholder or homeowner if you live in one of these boroughs, you’re eligible to access the service. Community Energy Talks
We can now offer online sessions aimed at residents, or can join any of your own online or face-to-face activities and events to talk about our services.
In these sessions we talk about:
- Why it is important to live in a warm home?
- Saving money on your energy bills- the current energy situation
- Improve energy efficiency in your home- learn tips on how to save energy and money
- Know about the available help to the eligible residents and how to book a consultation (phone/home visit)
